Bordeaux varieties
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot grow at Tin Cross, bringing different strengths to our reds and blends.
Mountain-grown wines with a sense of place and an uncompromising standard of care.
Above Alexander Valley, Tin Cross is rooted in the Pine Mountain–Cloverdale Peak appellation. Elevation, exposure, and a long growing season give us the raw material. Careful decisions in the vineyard and cellar let the site speak.
Our history reaches back to the vineyard’s first planting in 1855. Tin Cross grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Chardonnay. At Byington in the Santa Cruz Mountains, estate Pinot Noir completes our six varieties across two mountain vineyards.
Six estate-grown varieties across two mountain vineyards give us a broad range of possibilities. We make our selections by vineyard and vintage, rather than a fixed list of bottlings.

Byington’s cool mountain estate is home to our Pinot Noir, with its own character and the same high standards of selection.
Our mountain-grown Chardonnay offers another expression of the Tin Cross vineyard, shaped by the vintage and our choices in the cellar.
We also make wines from other varieties, including Sauvignon Blanc. The current release changes with each vintage and the fruit we select.
A standard we work toward, one decision at a time.
We begin in the vineyard: farming for balance, harvesting for character, and making exacting selections when the fruit arrives at the winery.
In the cellar, gentle handling, thoughtful oak, patient élevage, and repeated tasting guide every choice. We are willing to leave a lot out of a bottling when it does not serve the wine.
Our goal is clarity, energy, refined texture, and a finish that stays with you.
Theresa and Jason work with fruit from Tin Cross on Pine Mountain–Cloverdale Peak and Byington in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Most of our winemaking takes place at the Santa Cruz Mountains winery, where each vineyard's character guides the choices in the cellar.
Theresa brings more than two decades of winemaking experience, including work at Freestone and Gary Farrell. Her site-focused approach emphasizes freshness, balance, and a clear expression of place.
Jason has worked in our cellar since 2022 and was promoted to Assistant Winemaker in 2026. His practical knowledge of the wines and close attention to each lot bring continuity from harvest through bottling.
